This commentary presents an analysis of Clement's implementation of EBP in the context of the American Psychological Association's statement on EBP in psychology (APA 2006). Strengths evident in the treatment of this case, as well as shortcomings currently endemic in our profession, are described with a focus on choice of psychological interventions, non-specific factors, and assessment. Finally, this case, representing as it does the "facts on the ground" in the practice of psychotherapy, raises issues about the role of this activity in emerging national healthcare systems and a proposed distinction between "psychological treatments" and "psychotherapy."}, number={4}, journal={Pragmatic Case Studies in Psychotherapy}, author={Barlow, David H.}, year={2007}, month={Sep.} }
